Experience of NewVision in WASH

The overall objective of this assignment is to identify and analyze cost of existing emptying services (both mechanical and manual), and provide recommendation on affordable tariff structure for emptying services considering the levels of affordability and willingness to pay of the communities in the program area.

Assess the current situation and practices of Faecal Sludge management to build and demonstrate a comprehensive FSM model in Chittagong City maintaining due collaboration with City Corporation (CC) and Chittagong Water and Sewerage Authority (CWASA).

The overall objective of the programme was to generate a pro-poor model for WASH service delivery in small towns. The overall purpose of the End-line study is to conduct an evaluation to get an overview on program accomplishments attained so far. The study will also provide efforts to measure and outline the key outcomes, impacts and comparing with the baseline and midline condition.

The purpose of the study was to generate rigorous evidence about the impacts of sanitation, water quality and hand-washing interventions on child health and development in the five years of life. The core scientific objective of WASH Benefits was to evaluate the spectrum of benefits obtained through improved sanitation, water quality, hygiene promotion, and nutrition interventions. The specific objective of the project was to rigorously measure health benefits arising from low-cost approaches, evaluate the degree of resource-constrained settings, health benefit to delivering multiple interventions concurrently and measure the impact of lipid-based nutrient supplementation in combination with sanitation, water and hygiene interventions on child growth and development.

The mail objective of the project was to obtain sustainable development in health condition of rural poor people and improve health and hygienic behavior. The specific objectives were to develop and implement community managed sustainable rural safe water supply and sanitation system, separately; increase awareness and promote personal hygiene and health habits at community and institute levels; affordable and sustainable WASH mechanism through LGI; increase awareness & practice on menstrual hygiene in Girls School; particularly addressing mother, children and adolescent girls.

The “Health Village: WASH Monitoring perspective” project was implemented in six Unions of six districts. The project executed some of the specific activities relating to WASH Budget to achieve its explicit objectives for enhancing WASH situation in favor of the marginalized people. The baseline survey provided the opportunity to evaluate periodic progress within the speculated timeframe during the course of project period.

Water Partner International, USA based donor agency has funded this project for the development of an economically and institutionally sustainable process to improve WatSan situation and Hygiene change behavior.
